UrmO wins TechMatch

The US tech company Texas Instruments invited people to TechMatch last week. UrmO won the pitch competition.

Texas Instruments gave ten hardware startups the opportunity to present themselves to a panel of experts at TechMatch. The startups had seven minutes to explain their product to the jury. The Munich-based mobility startup UrmO prevailed over the competition. Ministerial Councilor Dietrich Schirm of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs presented the awards. The jury explained their choice as follows:

"Of particular importance to the jury was that the approach includes a sharing model, which can already be considered a further development of city bikes. This can significantly improve the traffic situation in cities and also the mood of commuters."

“Every company started as a startup”

UrmO has developed a foldable electric micro-vehicle. The vehicle weighs just 6.5 kilograms, making it ideal for use on public transport, for example. The battery is recyclable and designed for over 10,000 charging cycles without loss of capacity or performance. The UrmO winners will now participate in a digital marketing workshop worth €10,000 and receive additional prizes.

Stefan Bruder from Texas Instruments says about the background of the competition:

"The innovative power of startups is extremely high, and they help us identify trends. At the same time, startups can also benefit from us and our many years of experience in supporting other companies. And after all, every company started as a startup."
