A new website for companies and founders has just been launched: on mehr-fuer-muenchen.eu, the City of Munich will be bundling information on European funding opportunities.
The EU Investment Initiative is about to enter its fourth year. Since 2015, the European Commission has been investing specifically in innovative companies, startups, and educational institutions in Munich and the surrounding area. Further funding is expected in the coming years, so the chances of receiving EU funding in Munich and Bavaria are good.
mehr-fuer-muenchen.eu provides information about European funding for startups
On the new website 'mehr-fuer-muenchen.eu,' the 'Europe Direct Information Center Munich & Upper Bavaria' will tell stories of Bavarian entrepreneurs and educational institutions. These examples are intended to inspire. And perhaps also provide some encouragement—because when it comes to EU funding, potential applicants often imagine themselves battling with paperwork. However, obtaining funding can be easier than expected.
The website also encourages people to take advantage of the available resources. It also provides an overview of various funding opportunities and the right contacts.
Several million euros for Munich companies
In 2017 alone, EU funds invested several million euros in Munich-based start-ups and educational institutions.
"In Munich, numerous creative entrepreneurs and founders are working on new ideas and innovative products. Economic success requires investment,"
says the head of the Department of Labor and Economic Affairs, Mayor Joseph Schmid, and adds:
“This is where European funding helps to give startups even better chances of establishing themselves.”
Josef Schmid is patron of the “More for Munich” campaign.
