Quantum System wins the finals of the 2017 Munich Business Plan Competition. The team secured first place with its unmanned vertical takeoff aircraft. Vendl, which impressed the jury with its innovative beer glasses, took second place. Inveox took third place. With their technology, the medical technology founders aim to automate pathology laboratories to prevent errors in cancer diagnosis. The Munich Business Plan Competition is offered by BayStartUP, the institution for startups and industry supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.
"The startup scene in Bavaria is fortunately spread across all sectors – it is striking that high-tech innovations are very strong in the B2B segment. This shows that today's startups will become tomorrow's successful SMEs,"

said Dr. Carsten Rudolph, Managing Director BayStartUP. BayStartUP prepares startups for discussions with investors and connects them with financiers. In addition to the Bavarian Business Plan Competitions, the company, supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and private companies, offers coaching, workshops, and networking events for founders, business angels, and industry, as well as a comprehensive financing network.
“The Bavarian startup scene is ahead of the game”
"The three winners alone demonstrate the impressive spectrum of innovative startups in southern Bavaria. From vertically takeoff drones to an intelligent container for biopsies designed to help avoid mix-ups in the lab, to a bottle that doubles as a drinking glass for a traditional Bavarian beverage, everything is on offer. The nominated founders prove that Bavaria is creative and well-positioned when it comes to future technologies,"
said MD Dr. Bernhard Schwab, Head of the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology, in his speech.
"The Bavarian startup scene is ahead of the game! The winners of the Munich Business Plan Competition confirm this. The professionalism, entrepreneurial spirit, and highly innovative business models are absolutely convincing. The LfA supports this entrepreneurial spirit with attractive start-up loans, risk assumptions, and venture capital. This is how today's committed founders become tomorrow's successful entrepreneurs."
added Dr. Hans Schleicher, Deputy Chairman of the Board of LfA Förderbank Bayern, as sponsor of the competition.
