Open platform for hotels: apaleo secures seed financing

A breath of fresh air for the hotel industry: The Munich-based startup apaleo has only been in existence for about six months and has now completed its first round of financing for its cloud solution.

Industry insiders have long been saying that there is enormous potential for digitalization in the hotel industry, which is known for its rather conservative approach. Apaleo, a provider of an open hotel platform, is filling this gap and has completed a seed financing round of an undisclosed amount. Apaleo was founded in January 2017 and, according to its own information, already employs a team of 15 people. The startup is developing a cloud platform for hotels. An open interface is designed to enable hotels to use software from different providers.

Own angel network for apaleo

Co-founder Martin Reents explains that the system his company is currently developing is one of the most significant technology projects in the hotel industry in a long time. His co-founder Uli Pillau The founding team originally wanted to raise seed funding from their own resources. However, after encountering strong interest from their future investors, they enlisted their financial support and expertise. The startup has now established its own angel network, called apaAngels. This network consists of friends of the founders who themselves come from the hotel industry.
