The German preliminary round for the European Enterprise Promotion Awards has begun. The European Enterprise Promotion Awards identify and honor the most successful promoters of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship in Europe, showcasing the best business strategies and practices.
Initiatives sought at national, regional or local level
There are a total of six categories in which the award is given:
• Promoting entrepreneurial spirit: Recognizes initiatives that promote an entrepreneurial mindset, particularly among youth and women.
• Investing in corporate competencies: Recognizes initiatives that improve entrepreneurial and business skills.
• Improving the business environment: Recognizes innovative strategies that encourage business creation and growth, simplify legal and administrative procedures for businesses, and implement the "start small" principle for the benefit of small and medium-sized enterprises.
• Promoting the internationalization of economic activity: Recognizes policies and initiatives that encourage large corporations, and in particular small and medium-sized enterprises, at national, regional or local level to better exploit opportunities in markets inside and outside the European Union.
• Promoting the development of green markets and resource efficiency: Recognizes strategies and initiatives that promote SMEs' access to green markets and help increase their resource efficiency, e.g. through the development of eco-skills, matchmaking and financing.
• Responsible and inclusive entrepreneurship: Recognizes initiatives by corporations or public-private partnerships that promote corporate social responsibility among small and medium-sized enterprises. This category also recognizes efforts that promote entrepreneurship among disadvantaged groups, such as the unemployed, especially the long-term unemployed, legal immigrants, people with disabilities, or people from ethnic minorities.
The Grand Jury Prize
The Grand Jury Prize can be awarded in any category and will be given to the entry considered to be the most creative and inspiring entrepreneurship initiative in Europe.
There are two selection phases: only those who pass the initial selection at the national level can be considered for the European Award. A jury of well-known personalities will select the winners of the final round, who will be announced at the awards ceremony in November 2017.
The German preliminary round runs until 5. May.
