W1 Forward Insurtech Accelerator – Batch 2: Apply now

The W1 Forward Insurtech Accelerator is entering a new round: InsurTech startups have until March 26, 2017, to submit their applications. It's worth it, as the selected startups can expect, among other things, contacts and support from internationally renowned coaches and mentors, worth a total of €80,000.

In April 2016, the WERK1 in Munich, together with ten partners from the insurance industry, founded Germany's first InsurTech accelerator. Since then, the W1 Forward InsurTech Accelerator has aimed to help startups in these sectors further develop their business models and bring their products to market maturity. In the medium term, this will establish an international ecosystem for the InsurTech startup scene in the Bavarian capital.

Franz Glatz, Managing Director WERK1.Bayern:

"Basically, we're looking for startups with an innovative insurance business idea or technologies that could have an impact on the market. Currently, technologies such as AI, Big Data/Smart Data, Blockchain, IoT, drones, and cybersecurity are the ones that will have a lasting impact on the insurance market in the near future. The program is particularly interesting for founders from these areas."

Support without having to give up shares

The five founding teams selected from all applications will receive support in the further development of their concepts in a six-month intensive program without having to surrender any equity. They will receive infrastructure, contacts, and support from internationally renowned coaches and mentors with a total value of €80,000, as well as exposure to the insurance industry and the opportunity to present their concept to leading representatives of the partners.
