Digitalization is becoming an increasingly powerful driver of economic growth. The Free State of Bavaria's new funding program, which includes the so-called Digital Bonus and Digital Loan, provides support to SMEs in digitizing products, processes, and services.
Another funding focus is IT security, with up to 80 million euros available for this over the next four years.
Varianten and delivery head
The digital bonus is offered in three 1TP1408 tones, which can also be combined in different ways:
- As part of the Digital Bonus Standard, a grant of up to 10,000 euros is made available for digitalization measures and IT security.
- The Digital Bonus Plus is granted for digitalization measures with a higher innovative content – a subsidy of up to 50,000 euros.
- The grants are supplemented by a so-called digital loan: The LfA offers low-interest loans of up to two million euros, which can be used in addition to or as an alternative to the digital bonus loans.
Application and payment
The Application The funding for the digital bonus – whether in the standard or plus Variante – is handled by the governments. In this case, your district government decides directly on the funding. For digital loans, your main bank and the LfA Förderbank Bayern are also involved.
The funding decision will then be reviewed and communicated. Only then can you begin implementing the project. The amount will be paid out after you submit proof of use.
Funding object
The Digital Bonus enables small and medium-sized enterprises in particular to address digital transformation through hardware and software while simultaneously investing in IT security. As early as 2015, the Bavarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BIHK) called for such measures in its position paper on the future strategy "Bayern Digital" to support SMEs in their digital strategies.
