Another 100 million euros for the digital bonus

The Digitalbonus.Bayern funding program will relaunch on August 1, 2017. Additional funding totaling €100 million will be made available for 2017/2018.

Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs and Digitalization Ilse Aigner:

"It's a core concern of mine that small and medium-sized businesses, in particular, invest in digitalization and thus increase their competitiveness. The enormous demand shows that progress is being made across the country. We are fully supporting this progress and making our businesses fit for the future."

The funding program has enjoyed strong demand since the beginning of 2017 and exceeded optimistic expectations. As a result, the 2017 annual tranche for the "Standard" and "Plus" digital bonus was already exhausted on May 12, 2017. Aigner commented:

"It's good that we can build on the success of the Digital Bonus. The additional funds will maintain the momentum that the funding program has generated for digitization, especially among medium-sized and smaller businesses."

Applications for funding from the Digitalbonus.Bavaria Applications can be submitted starting in August. Even though the applications will not be approved and paid out until 2018, the projects should be able to begin this year.
