Munich-based startup Roadsurfer has received €85 million to expand its campervan fleet and scale internationally. The growth strategy is being financed with ABS from Macquarie and venture debt from BBVA.

The funds come from two separate sources: an asset-backed securities (ABS) financing of €60 million from Macquarie Group and a €25 million venture debt financing from the Spanish banking group BBVA. With the fresh capital, Roadsurfer plans to further expand its fleet of around 10,000 campers. The company also intends to Startup to strengthen its presence in the European and North American markets.

The new ABS agreement with the Macquarie Group increases the existing ABS structure to a total of €200 million. The capital will primarily be used to further expand the fleet and scale the operating business. Sarah Milne, Managing Director, Securitisations at Macquarie, says:

"We are delighted to support Roadsurfer's continued growth by expanding its ABS financing. This transaction underscores Macquarie's deep expertise in structuring and managing ABS solutions, as well as our commitment to enabling innovative companies to scale effectively."
