Edurino has closed a €17 million Series B financing round. The goal of the financing is to expand the Edurino platform as a leading provider of educational gaming for preschool and elementary school children.
The round is led by Ravensburger Next Ventures as lead investor and Summiteer, the private equity firm of serial entrepreneur Sven Schulz. Existing investors such as DN Capital, Tengelmann Ventures, B2venture, Emerge, FJ Labs, G-Fund, and Jens Begemann are reinvesting. Business angels Stefan Winners and Frederik Vollert are also investing.
"We're not just building learning products, we're building a platform that accompanies children long-term through powerful content, characters, and experiences. Edurino will become the leading address for digital learning for preschool and elementary school age,"
says co-founder Franziska Meyer.
Edurino focuses on scaling, trading and product innovation
The Startup pursues three key growth goals: the further development of the platform with new learning content and hybrid Products, the international rollout – including to Great Britain – and a doubling of the presence in brick-and-mortar retail by the end of 2025.
"Through our scaling, we want to reach even more families with Edurino – digitally, in-store, and across media. With Ravensburger, we have found the ideal partner who wants to actively shape our vision of playful learning. Crucially important to us are the retail proximity and the expertise to develop products together,"
explains co-founder Irene Klemm.
Ravensburger sees the Edurino concept as a pioneering combination of analogue play and digital education. Managing Director at Ravensburger Thomas Bleyer says:
"Edurino succeeds in building a meaningful bridge between analogue play and digital education. With their clear pedagogical concept and child-friendly implementation, the team not only convinces children and parents, but also us as partners. We see the potential in Edurino to sustainably shape digital early education worldwide."
Technological approach and scientific support
A low-code system enables the creation of new learning content without manual programming and ensures high scalability. Over 40 educators, game designers, and researchers are developing the content, which is being scientifically evaluated in collaboration with the University of Cambridge.
Sven Schulz, founder of Summiteer, highlights:
"Edurino combines pedagogical expertise with cutting-edge technology, creating a learning platform that inspires children and convinces parents. We see great potential in Edurino to have a lasting impact on the educational landscape and look forward to actively shaping this journey as a partner."
Edurino was founded in Munich in 2021 by Irene Klemm and Franziska Meyer. The company has already sold over one million products and cooperates with more than 1,500 educational institutions. The products are available at retailers including Media Markt, Saturn, and Smyths Toys.
