Whether AI in urban planning, smart charging stations, or digital twins – the Smart Country Startup Award 2025 is looking for young companies that are digitizing the public sector. Startups can now apply in the Smart City and Govtech categories. Award honors outstanding ideas, technologies and products that make cities and administrations smarter.
The competition is looking for visionary early-stage projects that use digitalization to make life in municipalities and government agencies more efficient, modern, and easier. The best founders will pitch live on the Plaza Stage of the Smart Country Convention (SCCON) in Berlin on October 1, 2025. They will compete for the award in front of a jury of experts and a large audience.
The winning startup will receive a comprehensive award package: a stage slot at SCCON 2026 worth 10,000 euros and a one-year free Get Started membership at BitkomWith this award, the digital association Bitkom specifically promotes access for innovative startups to the public sector – where digital solutions are particularly needed.
