After last year's success, the Academy of German Media in cooperation with the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) will host its second startup conference at the Literaturhaus Munich on June 30, 2016. The conference will once again focus on how established media companies and startups can learn from each other, cooperate, and create synergies.
The fact that the startup boom has now also reached the media business is shown by startups such as Adnymics or Content Captain, which were presented at the 2015 conference: Both the provider of personalized print advertising and the content curation service provider can now look back on a successful market entry. Furthermore, more and more media companies, whether B2B or B2C, are investing in digital startups to further expand their business models and bring more innovation momentum to their companies.
But when do such strategic investments, ventures, or even acquisitions make sense, and how can they be successfully accomplished? And how can publishers and companies that don't want to invest financially benefit and learn from startups? Which forward-looking business models do startups use to meet customer needs in the media business, and what do they teach in terms of market assessment, market launch, and lean business development?
Network and cooperate
In addition to keynotes and expert insights, participants from established media houses and startups will be offered an exclusive forum through speed dating and intensive workshops in the afternoon to engage in productive exchange and work practically on business innovations for their company.
Participants will have direct access to the new tools, media services, and technologies of promising startups and can try them out firsthand. The event is aimed at board members, CEOs, business developers, and digital business decision-makers from media companies, startup managing directors, and new founders.
