Ten years of the Health-i Award, ten years of groundbreaking ideas for healthcare. In 2025, Handelsblatt and Techniker Krankenkasse will once again honor the best startups in the healthcare sector. They are looking for creative teams with smart, digital solutions that sustainably improve healthcare.
The Award honors groundbreaking products, business models, and organizational innovations that are transforming the industry. Solutions with innovative technologies or business models are particularly sought after. The top ten startups will have the opportunity to present their projects to a high-profile jury. The three winning startups will be announced at the awards ceremony on October 9, 2025, in Hamburg.
Conditions of participation and benefits
Independent startups as well as spin-offs and spin-offs from innovation labs, incubators, and accelerators are eligible to apply. All startups based in Germany that are dedicated to innovative, digital, groundbreaking projects, products, business models, and organizational innovations in the healthcare sector are eligible to participate. The innovations must already have a certification (CE) or a pilot study. The number of employees must not exceed 500. Diversity in teams is encouraged.
Participation offers numerous benefits:
- Visibility in the industry and valuable contacts through networking events.
- The top 10 startups benefit from a social media kit for community voting and increased media exposure.
- All finalists will receive a professional presentation of their innovations in the Handelsblatt and on health-i.de.
- The best three startups will be honored with individual print advertorials, digital advertising materials and an exclusive podcast appearance on the Hearconomy podcast of the Handelsblatt Media Group.
- The top 10 will receive pitch training to optimize their presentation.
- The three winning startups will also receive exclusive training on how to deal with investors and two OMR education packages for further training in marketing.
All finalists will receive professional event photos and an aftermovie for their own use. The three best startups will be honored with a trophy and a certificate.
