This year, the "MöglichMacher – Bavarian University Entrepreneurship Award" was presented for the second time. Cash prizes totaling €65,000 were up for grabs. The awards went to individuals and projects that have made a significant contribution to promoting entrepreneurship and the start-up culture at their universities. A five-member jury consisting of representatives from academia, business, and the startup scene selected from 31 applications from across Bavaria.
This year, the jury divided the prize for art and music colleges equally between two applicants. In addition to the course format "Rembrandt* as an Entrepreneur" from the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg, the Munich Wavelab an award. As an innovation lab and start-up center for music, arts & media at the HMTM Munich, the Wavelab has developed into a vibrant platform for students and staff of the university, as well as for technology-based startups, since its founding in 2020. The overarching goal is to support students on their entrepreneurial journey in the cultural and creative industries. The Enabler award is endowed with €7,500.
"Champions who make the difference: The winners of our Bavarian University Prize for Entrepreneurship mentor, inspire, and motivate. The 'MöglichMacher' offer free legal advice for company founders, organize innovation festivals, or create entire ecosystems for their university's startup scene. This is entirely in the spirit of our €100 million Hightech Transfer Bavaria initiative."
said Bavaria's Minister of Science Markus Blume.
In addition to the Prices For the art schools, there were also awards for universities and colleges. In the university category, the Enablers went to the Startup Law Clinic at the University of Passau and the Digital Tech Fellows program at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Among the award-winning universities are Coburg University of Applied Sciences for its Impact Festival and the East Bavarian Technical University of Regensburg for its Startup Center.
