After the apprenticeship at schools, vocational training is also slowly receiving a digital update. The Munich startup Simpleclub has positioned itself here and, based on the vocational school curricula, offers content digitally prepared as text, video, interactive graphics, and exam questions. The training areas include skilled trades, commercial, industrial-technical, IT, and healthcare professions. Over 300 corporate partners are already working with Simpleclub in this area, including Deutsche Bahn, Deichmann, Brillux, and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
According to the startup, this B2B business is currently doing very well. A new company is signing up every other day, and revenue is growing rapidly. According to the company, this figure already reached seven figures in 2023, just one year after its launch. To meet this demand and further expand the internal sales team, 3VC, HV Capital, 10X Founders, and Bonsai Partners are now investing four million euros in Simpleclub.
Simpleclub founder and CEO Nicolai Schork explained:
"With this investment, we are broadening our sales and product offerings. In addition to additional learning content and increased content depth, we are developing Simpleclub into an all-in-one learning platform for training. This saves companies money because they no longer need an additional learning management system."
Simpleclub promises lower costs for companies and higher learning success for trainees
Eva Arh, partner at 3VC, says:
"Simpleclub is one of the most effective solutions for companies to counteract the shortage of young talent and trainers. Many apprenticeships are essential to the company's system, and apprentices are the skilled workers of tomorrow. The combination of relevance, market potential, and company growth convinced us to support this mission. We are very much looking forward to working with the team and are determined that this investment can also contribute to the future viability of the economy and to the successful model of dual training."
Alexander Powell, co-founder of Simpleclub for businesses, on the benefits of his solution for businesses:
"Well-qualified trainees deliver substantial added value to companies, especially in times of skilled labor shortages. The introduction of the digital learning platform saves companies money because trainers spend less time teaching theory and trainees are offered a personalized learning experience. Too few companies are still leveraging this strategic lever, but we're currently changing that."
According to Simpleclub, a company with 500 trainees can save up to €850,000 per year with the Munich-based solution. At the same time, trainee satisfaction and learning success are increased: User survey with Kantar 75 percent reported that their performance in vocational school had improved. And more than 80 percent of trainees even said they would be disappointed if they could no longer use Simpleclub for learning.
