The search for new materials is difficult for R&D departments, as they are too often still dependent on trial-and-error methods in the laboratory. With the help of computer simulations, Exomatter <\/a>change that. We wanted to hear from Barbara Pr\u00e4hofer in the Women in Techinterview<\/a> know the motivation behind their founding: "I founded my first company at school as part of a student project and since then I have had the entrepreneurial spirit within me. Gesa Biermann from Pina Earth<\/strong>: She founded Pina Earth together with Florian Fincke in 2021. The startup has been developing certified climate protection projects since 2021<\/a> with the goal of creating sustainable forests throughout Germany. Founder Gesa Biermann has been active in the sustainability field for around ten years, holds a doctorate in environmental sciences from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and a master's degree in Sustainable Resource Management from the Technical University of Munich. What does she want from the Munich ecosystem? She shares her thoughts on this topic in the interview<\/a>: "More diversity! In financing rounds, over 80 percent of funding is still raised by male teams. I am convinced that diverse teams benefit from different perspectives, whether it's their innovative ability or empathy. Catherine Leser from Penzilla<\/strong>: The founder wants to use her startup, founded in 2021, Penzilla will revolutionise occupational pension provision and thus make a social contribution to closing the pension gap.<\/a> The software from the company she founded with her husband Christoph takes over the administration work for employers related to company pension plans. Catherine Leser says in the Women in Techinterview<\/a> When asked about her motivation: "I've always dreamed of starting my own business someday. [...] On the one hand, I find it fascinating and motivating to build something from scratch. [...] On the other hand, it's always been important to me to work for a good cause. Kira Schilling from My Event Pass<\/strong>Founded in 2020, the startup is revolutionizing access to cultural events in the city by offering access to cinemas, concerts, theaters, and museums with a simple culture subscription. My Event Pass is currently available in Munich with over 2,200 events and more than 440 locations. In the Women in Tech-Interview<\/a> Among other things, she reveals her top tip for pitching: "A pitch must always be targeted. It's essential to ask yourself who you're pitching to and how you can mutually benefit from each other. Authenticity and a clear understanding of what connects both sides are crucial. Ultimately, the right investor isn't just a provider of capital; they must also be a good fit for the team, both in terms of content and personality."
