The goal is to harness the full potential of forests and contribute to climate protection. To this end, the Munich-based climate tech startup processes aerial photographs and data from other sources to create &quot;digital twins&quot; of forests using artificial intelligence. These provide information about forest growth, current CO2 storage capacity, and other metrics, and can predict optimal forest management to store more CO2 in the forests in the long term. According to the company, Ocell currently manages 500,000 hectares of sustainable forest areas in a total of eleven countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As has now been announced, Jaron Pazi will support the Munich-based startup as Chief Commercial Officer. In the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer, Pazi will be responsible for all carbon sales and marketing activities and will further develop the relevant areas. Jaron Pazi has experience in the areas of corporate social responsibility, climate protection, and business development. Most recently, as Managing Director DACH, he built up the platform&#039;s German business. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.treedom.net\/de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Treedom<\/a>\u00a0through which companies and private individuals can plant trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Knows the business from both sides<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>David Dohmen<\/strong>, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Ocell, on future plans:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&quot;Jaron brings the ideal qualifications for the role, as he understands our business from both sides \u2013 from the perspective of project developers and from that of companies that want to invest in meaningful climate protection projects with a measurable impact. Under his leadership, we will significantly expand the sale of CO2 credits to finance local forest projects this year. I am very pleased to welcome him to the team.&quot;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And<strong> Jaron Pazi<\/strong>, new Chief Commercial Officer at Ocell, adds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&quot;We cannot achieve the net-zero targets by 2050 without the active participation of the private sector. This requires not only a drastic reduction in CO2 emissions, but also a serious commitment from companies to support the removal of CO2 from the atmosphere. Ocell&#039;s data-driven climate protection projects aim to increase and long-term CO2 storage in local forest projects and strengthen local biodiversity. This enables companies to invest in effective, transparent, and regional climate protection projects. I am therefore very pleased to support the Ocell team in its important mission in the future.&quot;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May 2023, Ocell secured a <a href=\"\/en\/91411\/ocell-seed\/\">Seed financing of 4.9 million euros<\/a> The round was led by Aenu and Summiteer. Business angels Maximilian Thaler, Max Viessmann, and the agricultural and forestry company Boscor also joined the Munich-based company. Existing business angels also participated in the financing round.
