1st place: <\/strong>First place in the fourth quarter of 2023 Summ AI<\/strong>The Munich-based startup has developed an AI-supported tool that automatically translates any complex text into plain language, making information accessible and understandable. In October, Summ AI, founded in 2022 by Flora Geske, Vanessa Theel, and Nicholas Wolf, secured secure a 7-digit amount in a pre-seed round<\/a>With the fresh investment, the startup aims to expand its sales force and further expand its AI-based product portfolio. \"Pina<\/a>
2nd place:<\/strong> The Munich startup Pina Earth<\/strong> aims to make German forests more climate-resilient. To this end, the startup has developed a forest conversion methodology and a technology to make the resulting CO2 reduction measurable. Pina Earth thus offers climate protection projects for which CO2 certificates can be purchased and an additional source of income for forest owners. The startup was founded by Gesa Biermann and Florian Fincke in 2021 and now has 15 employees. \"Heycircle<\/a>
3rd place:<\/strong> Also on the podium this quarter is a startup that applied for a deal on \u201cDie H\u00f6hle der L\u00f6wen\u201d in October: Hey Circle<\/strong>The Munich-based startup aims to rid digital commerce of waste with its reusable shipping system. Hey Circle's system offers robust, reusable, and foldable boxes and bags that can be sent back and forth between retailers and customers up to 50 times, thus minimizing waste and CO2 emissions. Investors from the RTL show expressed interest in participating. \"Premium\"<\/a>
4th place:<\/strong> With a successful seed round of 4.5 million euros, Premium<\/strong> among the top 5 startups of the last quarter of 2023. The Munich-based startup develops ESG management solutions for the real estate and finance sectors. The seed financing round in October was led by UVC Partners<\/a>Existing investors such as B2venture also further expanded their investments. Other investors included Mutschler Ventures and business angels Joachim Drees (Drees & Sommer, MAN), Alexander Schw\u00f6rer (PERI), Heike G\u00fcndling (Bilfinger, 21st Real Estate), and Maximilian Viessmann (Viessmann Group). \"Franka<\/a>
5th place:<\/strong> Fifth place among the startups of the 4th quarter goes to Agile Robots<\/strong>. The Munich-based provider of robotics solutions announced the acquisition of Franka Emika earlier this month<\/a>The robotics company Franka Emika, founded in 2016, had to file for insolvency in August of this year after being unable to secure follow-up financing. At the same time, the Munich I public prosecutor's office is investigating the startup for subsidy fraud, as first reported by Bayerischer Rundfunk. The company is accused of continuing to work full-time despite receiving short-time work benefits. Agile Robots is now acquiring the struggling company for an undisclosed sum. According to Business Insider, the transaction involved \u20ac33 million. The company plans to continue operating Franka Emika with its approximately 100 employees. The company also plans to invest in the company's further growth in Bavaria.
