Orbem<\/a><\/strong>Since January 2022, no day-old chicks may be killed in Germany because of their sex. Male chicks, which have no use in the egg industry, may no longer be shredded. To prevent them from being hatched in the first place, the Munich-based startup Orbem combines imaging technologies such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with artificial intelligence. With its solution, chicken eggs can be classified before chicks even hatch. However, AI-assisted MRI technology can also be used to scan other biological samples such as food, plant species, building materials, and the human body. AI ensures that MRI procedures are faster, which makes them interesting not only for a number of previously untapped markets but also for investors. The startup, which was a tenant in the Gate from July 2020 to December 2022, was only able to obtain a Series A financing round<\/a> in the amount of 30 million euros. Celus<\/a><\/strong> aims to optimize electronics development with a cloud-based B2B SaaS platform. Every electronic product contains a circuit board with tiny hardware components \u2013 and they are all developed manually. This leads to very complex and time-consuming development cycles to ultimately achieve a final design with component selection. With its development platform, Celus aims to support electronics developers with extensive component data from electronics manufacturers. And design automation enables the flexible replacement of circuit board components. This allows electrical engineers to flexibly adapt a product's supply chain to delivery bottlenecks or price changes without the usual manual effort. \"Motius\"<\/a>
Motius<\/a><\/strong>: Also closely linked to the Gate is the research and development (R&D) company Motius. The company develops innovative products and prototypes in areas such as embedded systems, business software, 3D printing, apps, construction, and product development. What makes it special is that, in addition to its core team, Motius consists of a large community of freelancers, students, and young professionals. This allows the company to assemble the ideal team for every project. Wisefood<\/a><\/strong>: The foodtech startup Wisefood, which emerged from a student project in 2017, aims to revolutionize the plastic disposable tableware market. It all began with edible drinking straws made from plant fibers. The Wisefood product range now encompasses almost everything related to disposable tableware, much of it still edible. last financing<\/a> The startup completed its first phase of development in 2021, with Better Ventures and various business angels investing an unspecified sum of millions. Wisefood was also able to benefit from the EU-wide ban on single-use plastic tableware that came into force in July 2021. Delicious Data<\/a><\/strong>Delicious Data also has a background in Gate. The AI startup aims to combat food waste with machine learning and algorithms. Its software-as-a-service solution is designed to help restaurateurs better plan their purchases. Using deep learning algorithms, the software analyzes historical customer data and combines it with other external factors such as holidays or weather data to make precise predictions for the future. According to Delicious Data, since its founding in 2017, save over 820,000 meals<\/a>, which corresponds to 1,000 tons of CO2 equivalents and 15 million hectoliters of economic water.
