The Edurino founders Irene Klemm and Franziska Meyer<\/a> In 2021, we developed a hybrid learning platform together with educators that playfully prepares children from preschool age for the demands of the digital world of tomorrow. In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the offering for children from four years of age will be available, according to of the startup<\/a> It has already been used in several hundred educational institutions. It is also available at more than 350 brick-and-mortar retailers, such as M\u00fcller and Thalia. Since its launch, over 200,000 products have been sold to families in the DACH region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this successful launch, Edurino is launching its second phase of expansion into the UK, bringing digital learning to preschool children at the European level. Irene Klemm<\/strong> and Franziska Meyer<\/strong> explain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Edurino, we aim to create the first personalized learning platform that prepares our youngest children for the challenges of the digital era while promoting equal opportunities."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Almost every child in the UK has a tablet or smartphone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The UK appears to be a perfectly suited market for Edurino. Together with the two market research companies Pollfish and Dynata, the startup studied the British market and compared it with the German market. According to the survey, 86 percent of British preschool children own their own tablet or smartphone. Over half of these children are allowed to play more than four times a week. Overall, 50 percent of these children spend up to 60 minutes per day on digital devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Edurino, these figures underscore the urgency of making children's screen time educationally valuable. However, they also demonstrate that the market is likely to be accessible for the Munich-based startup's offering. The startup's offering focuses on combining analog and digital learning. To achieve this, children combine a learning app with a stylus and haptic figures. The learning content includes academic skills such as reading, writing, and arithmetic, as well as logical thinking, creativity, and environmental awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mario Barosevcic<\/strong>, Partner at Edurino investor Emerge Education<\/a>, explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Edurino has successfully connected digital learning at home and in educational institutions for children in the DACH region. The expansion to the UK represents a significant next step in further connecting digital education at the European level."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Edurino \u201ccould represent an educational revolution\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And Verena Pausder<\/strong>, education expert and business angel of Edurino, adds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Edurino has the potential to profoundly change the way children around the world learn. Its edutainment approach, which fosters curiosity and creativity in an interactive environment, could revolutionize education by demonstrating how children can be effectively supported in the digital era."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Edurino currently employs over 70 people from 14 nations, 50 percent of whom are women. This includes a team of German and British educators who tailor the startup's learning content based on local curricula.
