When assessing which startup is ready for investment, we base our assessment on the \u201cDealroom Signal\u201d of the Munich Startup Insights.<\/a> This evaluates companies based on four categories: "Timing" indicates how much time has passed since the last funding round; "Growth Rate" refers to the startup's growth rate; "Hiring Pace" considers how many open positions a startup has and how quickly it can fill them; and "Completeness" refers to the startup's data within the insights. \"Hakuna<\/a>
Hakuna<\/strong>: The Munich Insurtech Hakuna<\/a> enables retailers to offer product protection as a service. This means that customers have the option to add an extended warranty or insurance to their shopping cart when making a purchase. No additional steps or data entry are required. With various insurance products, the startup covers technical defects as well as accidents and theft. The startup has already made impressive progress in terms of financing: In 2021, Hakuna closed its first seed round of \u20ac1.5 million, followed by another seed round of \u20ac4 million in 2022. \"Advastore\"<\/a>
Advastore<\/strong> is dedicated to fulfillment. Founded in 2020, the startup offers an all-in-one solution that automates order processing \u2013 from receiving goods to picking and shipping to returns. The company, which is backed by Flaschenpost founder Dieter B\u00fcchl, aims to offer online shop operators faster, more transparent, and more cost-effective fulfillment. Following an initial financing round of an undisclosed amount last year, the timing would be favorable for a further investment in the startup, which now has 50 employees: The dealroom signal from Advastore<\/a> is at 93 points, with 100 points in the "Timing" segment. \"The<\/a>
The Exploration Company<\/strong>: The road to space is long, arduous and expensive \u2013 and like many other New Space startups, The Exploration Company<\/a> change exactly that. The young company is aiming to transport cargo and eventually people into space with its self-developed Nyx space capsule. In developing Nyx, the startup, based in We\u00dfling and Merignac near Bordeaux, recently reach two milestones<\/a> and successfully test key hardware components. However, hardware development is expensive \u2013 and so the company, founded in 2021 and funded with a total of around \u20ac45 million through several financing rounds, could certainly use another investment. \"Reverion\"<\/a>
Reverion<\/strong>: A new generation of power plant is currently being developed by the Munich startup Reverion<\/a>According to the company, these can achieve an efficiency of up to 80 percent when converting biogas into electricity. This allows biogas plant operators to increase their revenues by up to 400 percent using the same amount of biomass. Furthermore, the small power plants also have the ability to run "in reverse" (reversibly). This allows a temporary surplus of wind and solar power to be used to generate and store a renewable natural gas substitute or green hydrogen. The startup has already scored highly with Xpreneurs and various investors with this approach, and the European Innovation Council has also provided funding. The dealroom signal is at 79 points. \"Tozero\"<\/a>
Tozero<\/strong>: Also investment-ready, according to our insights (Dealroom Signature: 76), is Tozero. The startup is developing a scalable recycling plant for lithium-ion batteries. It is designed to extract not only lithium but also other valuable materials such as nickel, cobalt, and graphite from discarded batteries. Tozero was founded in July 2022 by Sarah Fleischer and Ksenija Milicevic Neumann. In their work, the two founders cooperate closely with Prof. Bernd Friedrich, who, as head of the Institute for Metallurgical Process Engineering and Metal Recycling at RWTH Aachen University, is considered a pioneer in battery recycling research. Tozero recently inaugurated a pilot plant for battery recycling. the last financing round<\/a> The startup completed its funding in September 2022. At that time, it raised 3.5 million euros.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\"Robco\"<\/a>
Robco<\/strong>: Robco's industrial robots not only bring automation to small and medium-sized enterprises \u2013 this year they also helped CO-founder Roman H\u00f6lzl to become Forbes 30 under 30 Europe<\/a>And investors are also interested in them: last year, Kindred Capital from London, Promus Ventures from Chicago, Helsing co-founder Torsten Reil, entrepreneur Daniel Dines and Christian Reber, partner at Frank Thelen's investment firm Freigeist, invested a total of 13 million euros in Robco<\/a>According to Dealroom Signal, with a score of 76, it's almost time for the next investment.
