This year's T Challenge, sponsored by T-Mobile US and Deutsche Telekom, focused on harnessing decentralized technologies for telecommunications. Developers, researchers, and creatives were sought to present their vision of a human-centered internet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spectrum of applications ranged from token-certified carbon credits, decentralized cybersecurity mesh architecture or an NFT ticketing protocol, to video streaming in the metaverse, wallets, smart contracts and decentralized identity management. Claudia Nemat<\/strong>, Member of the Board of Management for Technology and Innovation at Telekom, explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"The solutions summarized under the term Web3 have a significant impact on our lives and everyday life. The enthusiasm for the possibilities of technology must have the well-being of people as its guiding principle. To promote solutions with a human-centered use of technology, we have launched the T Challenge. Hundreds of applications from more than 50 countries show us that this approach is convincing." <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Twinu presented \u201cMost Sustainable Solution\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Among the award-winning teams is a Munich-based startup, Twinu. Based on the motto 'Circularity is a must', Twinu<\/a> developed a sustainability checkbook that gives customers an overview of their devices. Consequently, the Munich-based company also impressed in the category "Most sustainable<\/a> Solution.\u201d The award comes with prize money of 50,000 euros. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Saw<\/strong>, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of T-Mobile US, said of this year's field of participants: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

"This year's winning projects are another incredible example of how 5G goes beyond smartphones. With 5G and Web3, users have more control over their personal data online than ever before\u2014regardless of the device they use."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
