\"Lilium\"<\/a>
1st place:<\/strong> The Munich-based flying taxi developer Lilium<\/strong> announced a further capital increase of up to 225 million euros (250 million dollars) in May. Commitment of 90 million euros<\/a> (100 million dollars) came from the Chinese tech group Tencent. Tencent has been on board with Lilium since 2017. Since then, the group has contributed to several financing rounds for the Munich-based company, including the capital increase of 107.5 million euros (119 million dollars) at the end of last year. Now, a further 90 million euros are to follow. Tencent has also committed to an additional 67.5 million euros (75 million dollars) if Lilium succeeds in raising the same amount from other investors. the startup<\/a> then to the targeted \u20ac225 million. The money will continue to flow into the development of Lilium's flying taxi. The Munich-based company also intends to use it to cover "most of the estimated capital requirements for the first manned flight," according to a press release. 2nd place:<\/strong> Second place in May goes to the crowdfunding tips from Magic Bavaria<\/strong>The Munich-based company aims to create a unique museum experience for Munich. To (partially) finance the project and, above all, to inspire future visitors, the founders Verena Horbach and Susanne Funke have set up a Crowdfunding campaign<\/a> launched. In an interview with Munich Startup, they explain: "Crowdfunding is actually only a small, but nonetheless very important, financial component of our large project. We would like to use crowdfunding to involve the people of Munich in our interactive museum and let them participate from the very beginning. Ideally, we will be able to have one of our larger exhibits, the Upside-Down Alpine Hut, financed through the crowd. 3rd place:<\/strong> Third place this month goes to Kertos<\/strong> with a financing announcement. The Munich-based startup, which automates data protection and compliance processes, successfully completed a Announce seed round of four million euros<\/a>Both existing and new investors participated in the round \u2013 including Carsten Maschmeyer's investment firm Seed + Speed. Kertos was founded in November 2021 by Kilian Schmidt, Johannes Hussak, and Alexander Prams. The company claims to offer the first European data protection and compliance product that automates operational business processes. Kertos' solution requires no programming skills for implementation. The Munich-based company plans to invest the fresh funds in the further development of its technology platform, expand its product offering, and further expand its customer base. \"Ocell\"<\/a>
4th place:<\/strong> Fourth place goes to Ocell<\/strong>, which also had a Financing of 4.9 million euros (5 million dollars)<\/a> The seed round was led by Aenu and Summiteer. Business angels Maximilian Thaler, Max Viessmann, and the agricultural and forestry company Boscor also joined the Munich-based company. Aerial photographs and other data sources are processed using artificial intelligence to create digital twins of each forest. These are intended to provide information about forest growth and current CO2 storage capacity, as well as predict optimal forest management. This is intended to optimize wood production and CO2 storage in forests. More than 200,000 hectares of forest are already being managed with the software. The charging infrastructure startup secures a Investment of over 150 million euros<\/a>Infrastructure investor Infrared Capital Partners is investing in the Munich and Dublin-based startup. With its fast-charging stations, Jolt Energy relies on battery storage systems designed to complement existing low-voltage grids in cities. They provide additional energy for the charging process and enable charging for up to 100 kilometers of range in five minutes. The charging stations deliver up to 320 kW of power. In this way, the startup aims to enable the development of fast-charging infrastructure without having to make major interventions in the power grid. In the coming years, the startup plans to install thousands of fast-charging stations in European and North American cities. This is made possible by the recent completion of a financing round.
