Almost half of the companies surveyed by Bitkom see their own industry as a leader or pioneer in digital innovations compared internationally. 29 percent place it in the middle of the pack, 19 percent among the laggards or already lagging behind. Digital Association<\/a> surveyed 603 companies in Germany, including 163 from industry. Bitkom President Achim Berg<\/strong> says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two-thirds of the industrial companies surveyed are convinced they should become pioneers in the development of sustainable technologies, and 57 percent believe that the development of climate-friendly procedures and processes in industry could strengthen the competitiveness of the German economy. At the same time, political regulation is a concern for every second company: A total of 50 percent of the industrial companies surveyed say that climate policy is burdening the manufacturing industry in Germany and limiting competitiveness.
