The goal is to use AI SoundLab to analyze the provided voice samples to identify so-called biomarkers\u2014measurable and objectively assessable indicators of the presence or severity of a disease\u2014for various clinical pictures. Furthermore, the long-term development and changes of various disease courses and interventions during therapy should also be analyzed. AI SoundLab is intended to enable applications that allow non-invasive, efficient, and rapid screening and diagnostic support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Investigate and validate voice biomarkers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Audeering is currently conducting data collection with national and international institutes and universities as part of clinical studies. Various vocal biomarkers associated with neurodegenerative and mental illnesses are being investigated and validated. These biomarkers can be identified based on motor, cognitive, physical characteristics, and psychological conditions. The Munich-based company&#039;s goal with AI SoundLab is to sustainably improve individual health and advance digital health solutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dagmar Schuller<\/strong>, CEO and co-founder of Audeering, explains: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&quot;Our work on detecting COVID-19 disease using voice analysis already received worldwide recognition in 2020. This gave rise to the idea of developing AI SoundLab, an efficient, standardized platform for vocal biomarkers that could be used to research these biomarkers for various diseases. Our mission is to soon enable patients, entrepreneurs, and researchers to use AI SoundLab to promote mental and physical health and take necessary preventive measures.&quot;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use in the maritime industry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>AI technology is already being used by several companies in the pharmaceutical and research sectors, for example, to better assess and promote people&#039;s mental health. One of the partners is Safetytech Accelerator. In collaboration with HiLo Maritime Risk Management, the company is researching the mental health of seafarers. Using technologies for data collection and analysis, performance deterioration and dangerous situations caused by a stressed crew can be better identified. Investing in prevention and supporting employee mental health can lead to fewer accidents, repatriations, and consequently fewer claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maurizio Pilu<\/strong>, Managing Director at <a href=\"https:\/\/safetytechaccelerator.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Safetytech Accelerator<\/a>, says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&quot;In our extensive discussions with the maritime industry and welfare organizations, we&#039;ve found that the ability to reliably and continuously measure crew well-being is often cited as a key to improving well-being.
