{"id":88402,"date":"2023-03-03T01:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-03T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.munich-startup.net\/?p=88402"},"modified":"2023-03-03T01:05:06","modified_gmt":"2023-03-03T00:05:06","slug":"m4-award-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.munich-startup.net\/en\/88402\/m4-award-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"M4 Award supports spin-offs from biotechnology"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The one from <a href=\"\/en\/startups\/biom-biotech-cluster-development-gmbh\/\">BioM<\/a> coordinated and supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.m4-award.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pre-start-up competition<\/a> is seeking applicants for the current round until March 8. The winning teams of the M4 Award will each receive up to \u20ac500,000 over a two-year period to validate their approaches. In addition, the funded projects will receive support on their path to company formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award recognizes research-based, yet application-oriented projects that serve the development and testing of innovative products and technologies in the field of medical biotechnology. Possible topics include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>innovative active ingredients and therapies (including NCEs, biologicals, ATMPs, vaccines)<\/li><li>innovative platform technologies in the field of prediction, prognostics or diagnostics in biotechnology (including approaches based on the application of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning)<\/li><li>innovative platform technologies in the field of drug discovery and development (including approaches based on the application of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning)<\/li><li>innovative approaches in the field of digital health in biotechnology (especially if there is potential for reimbursement by payers under the Digital Health Care Act (DVG))<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">M4 Award: Winners are selected in a two-stage process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Academic research teams working on an application-oriented project on the future of medicine can apply for the M4 Award until March 8. The project should have potential for a future spin-off. A five-page brief description of the spin-off project must be submitted with the application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams that receive a recommendation for the second stage can then submit a 15-page outline by May 22.
