Since 2016, Handelsblatt, together with the Techniker Krankenkasse (health insurance company), has presented the Health-i Award for innovative ideas in healthcare. The Health-i Award is designed to give thought leaders the opportunity to present their ideas and projects and expand their networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the organizers received over 220 applications in the categories of 'Startups,' 'Companies,' and 'Young Projects.' Around 250 representatives from business, politics, and associations attended the awards ceremony in Berlin and celebrated the new ideas for the healthcare industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Every year, I'm impressed by the innovative projects and clever solutions that companies, startups, and young projects produce. With their ideas and entrepreneurial courage, they all contribute to improving healthcare for people in Germany,"<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

says Jens Baas<\/strong>, Chairman of the Board of Techniker Krankenkasse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVisibility for exciting projects\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And Charlotte Haunhorst<\/strong>, Head of Digital and member of the editorial board at Handelsblatt, adds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"For us at Handelsblatt, the Health-i Award is the ideal platform to recognize innovative ideas for a more progressive healthcare system. The awards ceremony provides the perfect setting to give visibility to exciting projects and to network with each other."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Puray<\/a> was named winner in the "Young Projects" category. The core of the project is a urinary catheter that disinfects itself, thereby protecting patients from catheter-related infections. Eduardo Borrero and Christina Weber accepted the award. When asked what the next steps are, the two think<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe product is patent pending and we are on the way to founding a company.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Puray has already impressed at the Strascheg Award 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Endo Health was a strong contender in the 'Startups' category. With its app, it aims to improve the quality of life of endometriosis sufferers through a multimodal therapy approach that combines diary and exercises from physiotherapy, gynecology, psychology, yoga, and nutritional medicine, as well as offering social support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OnlineDoctor 24 won the "Company" category. The Hamburg-based company enables people with skin problems to be digitally examined by local dermatologists, regardless of location or time.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
