Flix<\/strong><\/a> was once launched with the support of the LMU EC to "open up new opportunities for a young and student target group to travel cheaply and very comfortably between German cities." That was almost 10 years ago. Today, the company run by Jochen Engert, Daniel Krauss, and Andr\u00e9 Schw\u00e4mmlein is worth around \u20ac2.7 billion and operates buses as well as trains. And not only in Germany, but also in large parts of Europe, North America, and Brazil. The three founders also share in their success: Both through SEK Ventures and individually, they participate as investors in numerous<\/a> others<\/a> Startups<\/a>. Yfood<\/strong><\/a>: It all started with meal replacement drinks. The Munich-based company's product portfolio now also includes hot bowls, i.e., meals that can be poured over the body, as well as bars and powders for home-mixing. The basic idea of Yfood, however, remains the same: to replace an entire balanced meal for people who don't have time to cook "in a convenient, time-saving, cost-effective, and healthy way." During an appearance on the Founders Show 'The Lion's Den'<\/a> In 2018, the two founders, Benjamin Kremer and No\u00ebl Bollmann, convinced Frank Thelen to invest \u20ac200,000. Tado<\/strong><\/a>: Tado has been helping its customers save energy since 2011. The Munich-based startup has now Step onto the stock market<\/a> gone, but for Tado, too, it all began with the LMU EC. The Munich-based company teaches heating and air conditioning systems to think, ensuring that no energy is wasted unnecessarily. To do this, the startup's app collects data about its users' requirements and links it with publicly available information such as weather data. An algorithm processes this information and controls the heating and air conditioning systems on this basis. The app knows when the last resident left the house and turns down the heating. If a resident is on their way home in the evening, Tado heats the apartment depending on the expected outside temperature. Happybrush<\/strong><\/a>: Thanks to her performance in the Vox show \u201cThe Lion\u2019s Den\u201d<\/a> Happybrush founders Florian Kiener and Stefan Walter became known throughout Germany overnight. The startup from the LMU EC sells various oral hygiene products and focuses on sustainability in their development. The Munich-based company's portfolio includes, among other things, a vegan toothpaste in recycled packaging and a climate-neutral electric toothbrush. And with this, they not only convinced the "lions" Ralf D\u00fcmmel and Carsten Maschmeyer in 2017. In their Series A financing in April 2021, they also brought additional investors on board. Smart Reporting<\/a><\/strong>: In medicine, documentation is still often done by hand or with recorded notes. The Munich-based startup Smart Reporting \u2013 originally launched as Smart Radiology \u2013 is committed to digitizing these processes. With its software solutions for medical documentation and clinical guidance in diagnostics, hospitals and radiology departments can optimize their communication. Furthermore, the collected diagnostic data becomes accessible for analytics. The startup's success proves it right: The startup's technology can now be integrated globally thanks to strategic sales partnerships with companies such as General Electric and Siemens Healthineers.<\/a>.
