Agrando<\/strong> is one of the flagships in the agtech industry. The startup has developed a trading platform that allows farmers to request products such as seeds, fertilizers, or feed from retailers, compare offers, and centrally document orders. The best offer can then be commissioned via the platform with a single click. Interview with Munich Startup<\/a> Founder Jonathan Bernwieser explains exactly how his solution works. With it, he has not only been able to convince users but also raise capital. The last Series A round was 12 million euros<\/a>With this investment, the young company based in Munich Technology Center<\/a> (MTZ) will, among other things, advance its internationalization and scaling. Since January 2022<\/a> In Germany, day-old chicks may no longer be killed because of their sex. Or, to put it another way: Male chicks that have no use in the egg industry may no longer be shredded. To prevent them from being hatched in the first place, the Munich startup Orbem<\/a><\/strong> Imaging technologies such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are combined with artificial intelligence. With its 'Orbem Genus', chicken eggs can be classified before chicks even hatch. Orbem was initially faced with problems not only due to its expensive hardware, but also due to the poultry industry, which is not always open to technological innovations, as the founders explained to us in Interview revealed<\/a>. \"Farminsect\"<\/a>
The focus is on the feed sector Farminsect<\/a><\/strong>The startup has developed an automated machine system that allows farmers to breed their own feed insects. The system uses crop residues or leftovers from food production. This allows farmers to produce their own protein feed instead of having to rely on imported soy or fishmeal. This approach aims to make animal husbandry more sustainable and efficient. Seed financing round<\/a> In August 2021, Farminsect secured a seven-figure investment, which the company plans to use to establish a new insect production site and commission additional fattening facilities at farmers' homes. \"agrilution<\/a>
The theme of Agrilution<\/a><\/strong> is vertical farming. The Munich startup's 'Plantcube' is designed to enable customers to grow vegetables, lettuce, and herbs from seed mats in their own kitchens. This works because the fully automated, refrigerator-sized greenhouses offer a closed ecosystem with seed mats, light, climate, and automated irrigation. The system is controlled via its own cloud platform: An app provides information about the growth process and offers tips on maintenance and harvesting. At the end of 2019, Agrilution had to file for bankruptcy. but was taken over by Miele at the beginning of the following year<\/a>Interested parties can purchase the 'Plantcube' for just under 2,000 euros.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Nearbybees<\/strong><\/a> brings local beekeepers and consumers together with its online platform. There, consumers can search for local honey from registered beekeepers and have it delivered to their homes by mail. The platform not only aims to help beekeepers \u2013 who usually practice beekeeping as a hobby \u2013 market their products, but also contribute to combating the decline of bees. With this approach, the Munich-based startup was also able to secure the Social Venture Capital Fund in 2017. BonVenture<\/a> convince the one invested a six-figure sum<\/a>.
