The Munich-based reusable supplier Recup<\/a> was able to connect the 10,000th collection and return point of its system just in time for the turn of the year. Florian Pachaly<\/strong>, founder and managing director of Recup, says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"We are very pleased about this important milestone. Reusable systems are designed for widespread use. The more densely woven the network of Recup\/Rebowl partner businesses is, the easier it will be for everyone to integrate the deposit system into their daily lives, and the more disposable packaging will be saved. The 10,000 distribution points demonstrate that reusable packaging is easy to achieve in the hospitality industry, and we have thus laid the foundation for doing the same with thousands more distribution points next year."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Munich-based startup thus offers a solution for the mandatory reusable packaging in Germany, which will come into effect on January 1, 2023. Within a year at the latest, the majority of caf\u00e9s, restaurants, and other catering establishments offering to-go drinks and takeaway food will have to offer their customers the choice between single-use packaging and reusable alternatives. Like the German government, which has decided to extend the deposit requirement to all beverage cans and bottles made of single-use plastic starting January 1, 2022, Recup\/Rebowl is committed to the deposit model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recup relies on a learned deposit system<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The deposit system is easy to use and operates without registration or data entry. To keep the entry barriers as low as possible for both its partners and users, the company deliberately forgoes registration. As a common and learned principle, the company believes that deposits are accessible to all age groups and demographics and can be easily integrated into everyday life and operational processes.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
