300,000 kilometers of additional receipt length per year \u2013 that's how many receipts Bavarian retailers have produced since the introduction of mandatory receipts in early 2020, according to BR24. The regulation, which the federal government intended to make tax evasion more difficult, stipulates that a receipt must be issued for every business transaction. This applies even if the customer doesn't want the receipt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Anybill has developed a solution that helps companies put a stop to this waste production. With the help of the Munich-based startup, they can provide a digital receipt for every payment \u2013 in retailer, banking, and payment apps, or even without an application. According to the startup, founded in late 2019, it has already acquired more than 35 partners, including its first major paying customers, as well as SMEs and banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReal value-added services around payment\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Anybill has now successfully completed its seed financing round with \u20ac1.9 million. The funds will be used primarily for expanding the acceptance infrastructure and further product development. Anybill CEO and co-founder Lea Frank<\/strong> explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"With the support of expertise and the right network gained from this financing round, we are taking a decisive step closer to our goal of becoming an enabler for the issuance, acceptance, and further processing of digital purchase receipts. We are adding an additional layer to the existing payment infrastructure to enrich transactions with purchase information. Through our POS ecosystem on the one hand and our partner network on the other, we are bringing both worlds together, thus offering a unique technical foundation. We enable truly value-added payment services and can play a key role in enabling complete automation in digital receipt management in the future."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
