The company&#039;s solutions are used by various pharmaceutical and biotech companies, which are using them to research more than 25 different diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the acquisition of Sirion, Perkin Elmer aims to complement its Horizon Discovery portfolio, which includes gene editing and modulation tools for CRISPR, CRISPRi, and RNAi, custom cell lines for bioproduction, and base editing technologies. Furthermore, the acquisition is expected to further expand Perkin Elmer&#039;s existing cell and genetic research solutions with industry-leading high-content, in vivo, and cell painting screening technologies, innovative immunoassays, cell plate readers, and advanced automation, microfluidics, informatics, and analytics platforms. <strong>Christian Thirion<\/strong>, CEO of Sirion, explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&quot;Our team is excited to collaborate with Perkin Elmer to further expand our leadership in viral vector technologies for cell and gene therapy.
