The LMU Entrepreneurship Center<\/a> (LMU EC) will cease operations towards the end of the year. It will be succeeded by the LMU Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center (LMU IEC), which plans activities at LMU in research, teaching, and the promotion of entrepreneurial and innovative initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

350 startups and 15 billion euros market capitalization<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For 15 years, the LMU EC has been supporting founders in their first steps into entrepreneurship. During this time, 350 startups have been supported and supported through coaching and individual mentoring. According to the LMU EC, these startups have collectively created over 20,000 jobs and achieved a market capitalization of \u20ac15 billion. Startup alumni include established companies such as Flixbus, Foodora, and Trade Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the accelerator program is entering its final round, with 24 startups receiving support until the end of September. The current batch includes Containergrid, which were also able to convince at the cash walk<\/a> and Cometum<\/a>, which aims to become the leading fully digital private bank for wealthy millennials. Regularly full house at Leading Entrepreneurs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The fact that the LMU EC has been able to spread the entrepreneurial spirit at LMU since its founding in 2006 was demonstrated not least by the always very well attended Leading Entrepreneurs Events<\/a>, where startups from the accelerator program were able to introduce themselves to the students. Well-known figures from the startup scene regularly appeared here with inspiring keynotes. And also Andy Goldstein<\/a>, Co-Founder and Managing Director of the LMU EC, knew how to motivate young people in his opening speeches. In his speech at the April 2016<\/a> For example, he said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBeing an entrepreneur means bringing something to life, regardless of the circumstances\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The LMU EC is now making way for a new player, the LMU IEC<\/a>, which will be led by Prof. Dr. Jelena Spanjol, Prof. Dr. Martin H\u00f6gl, and Prof. Dr. Albrecht Schmidt, and under the operational leadership of Dr. Julia Wimmer and Dr. Susanne Ritter von Marx. The new institution will launch with an Impact Readiness Program, the Munich Global Impact Sprint, various projects focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, and events for networking between researchers, founders, and students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
