For ease of use, we have added a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cms.munich-startup.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Munich-Best-Practices-July-2020.pptx.pdf\">Guide<\/a>&nbsp;as well as <a href=\"\/en\/67961\/video-tutorial-how-the-insights-dashboard-works\/\">Tutorial videos<\/a> created that explain the most important functions.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together with <a href=\"\/en\/ecosystem\/map\/werk1muenchen\/\">Plant1<\/a>, <a href=\"\/en\/66756\/one-mission-and-female-investors-network\/\">One Mission<\/a>, <a href=\"\/en\/7046\/entrepreneurship-and-hypovereinsbank-agree-on-partnership\/\">UnternehmerTUM <\/a>and Dealroom, Munich Startup has created the first data-based overview of <a href=\"https:\/\/munich.dealroom.co\/lists\/18823\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Startups (co-)founded by women in Munich<\/a> It shows in which industries female founders are particularly active and how much capital has been invested in their startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, there are 165 startups in the Munich startup ecosystem that were founded solely by women or jointly by women and men. The majority of them (33 startups) operate in the health sector, including many startups well-known outside the industry, such as Climedo Health, Kumovis, and Inveox. Together, these young companies have raised \u20ac123 million in funding to date. This is not surprising, however, because <a href=\"\/en\/61894\/female-founders-monitor-3\/\">Female Founders Monitor<\/a> has already shown that at 16.7 percent, most women found teams in the field of medicine and healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Healthtech, Enterprise Software and Fashion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Female founders are also strongly represented in other industries: In the enterprise software sector, for example, there are 15 startups (co-)founded by women. The companies behind Usercentrics have already raised a total of \u20ac49 million in funding. The fashion sector also boasts 14 female-founded startups. The cumulative funding value here is \u20ac8 million. The transportation sector is also not to be overlooked. The 13 startups in this sector have raised a total of \u20ac159 million \u2013 the majority of which, however, goes to Sono Motors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The female-founded startup in Munich with the highest valuation is Scalable Capital, currently valued at \u20ac418 million according to Munich Startup Insights. Global Savings Group follows in second place with a valuation of \u20ac300 million, and Sono Motors is third, valued at \u20ac250 million. Of the 165 startups, seven have already been acquired, as recently reported. <a href=\"\/en\/69207\/cazoo-takes-over-cluno\/\">Cluno<\/a>In addition, two Munich startups founded by women, Westwing and Windeln.de, have already gone public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Female founders are rare in Munich<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you compare the Munich startup<a href=\"\/en\/69435\/the-best-tips-for-munich-founders\/\">ecosystem <\/a>However, when compared to other cities \u2013 or even the national average \u2013 it becomes clear that there is still a lot of catching up to do. In the state capital, 165 of 1,510 startups have a woman on their founding team, which is only 10.9 percent. According to the study, the proportion of female founders nationwide was <a href=\"\/en\/57128\/kfw-startup-report-2019\/\">KfW<\/a> The average for the years 2016\u20132018 was 19 percent. And <a href=\"\/en\/58871\/founders-wanted-the-german-startup-world-under-the-microscope\/\">the figures for 2019<\/a> show: Bremen has the most startups with at least one woman on the management board (20 percent), Berlin has 16.7 percent, and Bavaria as a whole still has 13.1 percent. Saarland brings up the rear with 9.1 percent.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What&#039;s the situation with female founders in Munich?
