Sono Motors says it aims to demonstrate the numerous possible applications of solar technology for various forms of mobility. <strong>Jona Christians<\/strong>, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sono Motors, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&quot;We&#039;ve found a way to deliver sustainable, free energy across multiple modes of transportation by replacing the traditional paint process with integrated solar technology. Because Sono&#039;s solar technology is cheaper, lighter, and much more efficient than conventional glass solar cells, I&#039;m very excited about the potential uses that come with its incredible flexibility. We&#039;re constantly developing this technology and looking forward to what we can achieve with it in the future.&quot;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What\u2019s new about the second prototype generation of the Sion?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first time, the &#039;new&#039; Sion features parts intended for series production. These come either from series suppliers or are near-series components. Sono Motors successfully implemented the electric drive unit, chassis, and MPPT Central Unit (MCU) intended for series production. Furthermore, all straight and curved exterior parts of the vehicle were equipped with solar panels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Munich-based startup is also making progress in the development of the Sono app and infotainment system. The on-board control units intended for series production now communicate with the app and infotainment system, for example, for live tracking of solar energy, keyless entry, opening the tailgate, or
