Munich Startup:<\/em> How did the idea of launching a coding and AI offensive with tutorials come about?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabrina Lechler<\/em>: Many entrepreneurial ideas revolve around apps and platforms. And they often fail due to technical development. Almost 90 percent of young people use YouTube regularly, but only 11 percent can code. For future jobs, programming skills are just as important as the ability to think entrepreneurially. We teach both on our YouTube channel, which has more than 61,000 subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learn lucrative and future-oriented skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> So far, only a few videos are online. What other offerings are you planning? And what can future founders actually do with this knowledge?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabrina Lechler<\/em>: Currently, everything revolves around artificial intelligence (AI). New videos are added every week: What is machine learning? What is Python? How do you create Variablen? ... and much more. At the end of the course, participants will be able to program their own AI using the Python programming language. Young founders can, for example, create an app with Flutter step by step using our YouTube videos. This is important because apps are extremely lucrative and future-oriented. In addition to coding, the platform also features almost 100 videos with the tools needed to start a business. This is how we prepare young innovators for their future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> Do you have any further plans to reach out to future founders in the areas of programming, AI, and machine learning?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabrina Lechler<\/em>: With the current course, we have covered the three major topics in the digital space: app programming, website development, and now the broad field of big data with AI and machine learning. More coding courses will follow in the coming year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> What goals do you want to achieve with the offensive? What feedback have you received so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabrina Lechler<\/em>: The goal is to equip young people for their professional lives, especially with regard to digitalization. Entrepreneurial thinking and action also provides many skills. Regardless of whether young people later become founders, company successors, or entrepreneurially minded employees, this applies even more. Especially in a global economic crisis, we must place even greater emphasis on ensuring that the next generation is well-rounded with creative problem-solvers and entrepreneurial ideas. The feedback has been overwhelming. A veritable community has emerged that exchanges ideas and supports one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> How do you explain that the topics you are addressing are not taught in school?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabrina Lechler<\/em>: If the coronavirus pandemic has shown one thing, it's that our school system hasn't yet embraced digitalization. Although funding has been available for schools for years through the Digital Pact, far too little has been utilized. The challenges posed by homeschooling and digital instruction will have a significant accelerating effect on this. We have long desired practice-oriented subjects such as entrepreneurship and programming \u2013 ideally starting in elementary school. However, changes to the curriculum are progressing very slowly and vary greatly from state to state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focus on mindset change<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> The Startup Teens create the films together with a Munich startup, Simpleclub<\/a>. How did the collaboration come about?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabrina Lechler<\/em>: The founders of Simpleclub, Alexander Giesecke and Nicolai Schork, wished they had the support of an initiative like Startup Teens when they founded their own company while still in high school. Therefore, the two are strongly committed to supporting young founders and are also involved as shareholders in Startup Teens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> While the offer is explicitly aimed at young founders, can't others benefit from it as well?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabrina Lechler<\/em>: The program is primarily aimed at students between the ages of 14 and 19, regardless of whether they want to start a business or not. We aim to achieve a mindset shift among this target group and teach them skills like coding and entrepreneurial skills to prepare them for their own professional future. Adults can also benefit from the valuable input of our educational videos.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Because coding and AI skills are future-oriented skills, Startup Teens has launched a tutorial series together with the Munich-based startup Simpleclub. The digital educational platform aims to teach young people and future innovators programming and develop an understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
