Andr\u00e9 Moll<\/em>, Utry.me: <\/em>Andr\u00e9 Moll (32) and Tobias Neuburger (40) \u2013 we are the founders of Utry.me \u2013 the first Online tasting market<\/a> No prices. Our shared love of e-commerce brought us together in 2017, when we decided to launch Utry.me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> What problem does your Startup<\/a>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andr\u00e9 Moll:<\/em> Customers in Central Europe tend to buy the same 40-50 items in the supermarket every week. In many cases, they even buy the same products for several years. How boring, considering how many products there are in the supermarket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This also creates a problem for brands. The likelihood that an unknown item, such as a new product, will be tried out without a second thought is very low. This is why sampling is used. Sampling serves to generate trial leads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Utry.me, there were only push-based sampling options. For example, pedestrian zone sampling, supermarket promotions, or the now-outdated surprise boxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Utry.me offers brand manufacturers the opportunity to conduct pull-based and digitally traceable sampling campaigns with attached market research elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The B2C end customer, i.e. our community, has the opportunity to get to know new products in experience mode and \u2013 if desired \u2013 even improve them by participating in surveys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> But that's been around for a long time!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andr\u00e9 Moll:<\/em> The product and concept are unique, which is why it's been so well-received. Online supermarkets have, of course, existed for a long time, but there are no trial markets like Utry.me, which exclusively offer new and exclusive products while also incorporating the all-important social community flair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> What have been your three biggest challenges so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andr\u00e9 Moll:<\/em> a.) To cope with the rapid growth in recent months in terms of logistics and personnel.
b.) To drive self-financed growth from the outset.
c.) Convincing the first 100 partners to collaborate with a Utry.me idea that was still unknown in 2018. Over 250 brands now trust us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> How are things going?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andr\u00e9 Moll:<\/em> We're very satisfied and now connect over 60,000 users and over 250 brand partners. We expect to have over 100,000 users in the Utry.me community by 2021 and now have over 25 team members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> How do you rate Munich as a startup location?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andr\u00e9 Moll:<\/em> 9\/10 points for Munich. We are very satisfied and can definitely recommend Munich as a startup location. Only in terms of wages and rent levels does Berlin currently have an advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
