The City of Munich's Engagement Award recognizes corporate commitment over the past year. There are four categories based on company size, including small businesses. This year, the Munich startup Twostay<\/a> The two founders, Dorothea Haider and Cecilia Chiolerio, offer a platform through which interested parties can invest in detached Coworking<\/a>-Spaces or other spaces like inspiring caf\u00e9s. Among other things, their company has also provided 40 freelancers with free workspaces, as not every freelancer can afford such space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury chose Twostay because the two founders demonstrate excellently how social engagement can be effectively realized using their own business concept. The jury evaluates the applications based on sustainability, internal and external impact, role model function, and creativity. Quantitative factors are also considered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dorothea Haider<\/strong>, one of the two Twostay founders, says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"For us, the award is a great signal and a sign of appreciation from the city. It's great that creatives and freelancers have such a strong lobby within the city administration and that the need to support these people, who are the driving force behind innovation, is recognized."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Twostay not only impresses with the Engagement Award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For Twostay, the commitment award is already the second municipal award <\/a>in a row. In summer 2020, the founders were already delighted to receive the innovation award in the category "Climate-Neutral Munich 2030\/2035."<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthias Winter<\/strong>, jury member and head of the corporate and civic engagement department in the social affairs department, explains: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Appreciation, recognition, and encouragement for social engagement are important for a solidarity-based urban society. The Engagement Award is intended to express its gratitude to all those who are exemplary in their commitment to social cohesion in Munich."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Recognition for social commitment as a thank you<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This year's award winners, in addition to Twostay, are Bregal Unternehmerkapital, a small company that supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and Circus Krone, a medium-sized company that organized special performances for the socially disadvantaged. Sky Deutschland, a large company, received the award for its internal volunteering program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich's mayor Dieter Reiter<\/strong> commented: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

"I'm particularly pleased that so many companies have applied again this year with such diverse and innovative projects. It's clear that social engagement is possible and meaningful for companies of all sizes and regardless of industry." <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
