The startup Vimum has closed its first financing round with a million-euro stake. Business angels Judith K\u00f6lzer-S\u00f6ding and Sunhild Theuerkauf of Lebenswerk2 and IT expert Dirk Franke also provided a seven-figure sum. BayBG<\/a> The two founders Birgit Ehret and Ulrike J\u00e4ger were brought on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The startup from the Munich area is breaking new ground in birth preparation. Vimum offers online courses in a so-called hybrid model for expectant and new parents\u2014on-demand courses combined with personal consultations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did Vimum convince investors?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With its multimedia e-health platform, the startup has found an answer to a societal problem \u2013 and is entering the market at just the right time. Due to the coronavirus crisis, courses for expectant parents, which had previously mostly been held in analog format, could often no longer take place. Various health insurance companies have also recognized this gap. Vimum recently acquired new health insurance companies as customers, allowing their members to access the founders' services free of charge. Ulrike J\u00e4ger's idea arose from her "analog" competence center for pregnant women, which she founded in 2015 and has since successfully developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dirk Franke<\/strong>, member of a business angel association from Frankfurt says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"I was immediately drawn to the passion and drive of the two experienced founders for e-health, a topic that's so relevant today. The close collaboration with health insurance companies is a real added value for everyone involved and supports needs-based further development."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Lukas Biberacher <\/strong>explained by the BayGB:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe three investors are ideal partners for the company, and we are pleased to support Vimum\u2019s growth plans with our commitment.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This is how the startup wants to further develop its platform<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And where will the journey lead now? The founders intend to invest the fresh capital in additional employees, in the further development of the IT platform, and in the expansion of the product range. This will enable Vimum to position itself in the rapidly growing Femtech<\/a>-Sector as a quality leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vimum founder and managing director Ulrike J\u00e4ger <\/strong>explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
