Neurevo is the winner of the third phase of the Munich Business Plan Competition 2020. The team, based at LMU Munich, is developing neuroprotective therapies against the consequences of strokes and neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS and Parkinson's disease. Its goal is to create drugs and therapies that go beyond purely symptomatic treatment of these diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second place goes to Manyfolds with a complete solution for customized, sustainable shipping packaging. Third place goes to Qbound. The startup operates in the field of IT security and is developing an innovative identity and access management solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Realization of the business idea, capital requirements and sales planning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Munich Business Plan Competition 2020 received a total of 117 submissions in the final phase 3, all of which were reviewed by a jury. The jury paid particular attention to the implementation of the business idea, capital requirements, and revenue planning. Carsten Rudolph<\/strong>, Managing Director of Baystartup, says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"In this third phase, the startups must demonstrate to the jury that they can assert themselves in the market environment. It's a positive sign that, especially in such a challenging year as this, so many entrepreneurs are intensively considering their business concepts and have the topic of startups on their radar."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Baystartup has been supporting aspiring founders from southern Bavaria with the Munich Business Plan Competition since 1996. Next season, the Munich Business Plan Competition will celebrate its 25th anniversary. The winners of the Munich Business Plan Competition 2020:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1st place: Neurevo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neurevo is developing neuroprotective therapies against the consequences of stroke and neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS and Parkinson's disease. The startup has already discovered two compounds and a novel mechanism of action that has undergone very successful preclinical testing. A GLP toxicity study is currently pending to test one of the compounds in a Phase I\/II clinical trial, thus taking the drug development process one step closer to reaching patients. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2nd place: Manyfolds<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manyfolds has developed a system for creating size-optimized and environmentally friendly shipping packaging. An app uses image recognition to determine the sizes of the goods to be shipped, and the cutting patterns for the shipping packaging are automatically generated. The packaging is produced using compact rental machines at the customer's site or via an external production service. Filling materials are no longer required, the pricing model is transparent, and the unboxing experience is effective. With less air in the packaging, direct reductions in logistics traffic and significant CO2 savings are possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3rd place: Qbound<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IT security is one of the greatest challenges facing our society. To protect organizations and companies, Qbound is developing an innovative identity and access management solution. It ensures that only authorized users can access the right application (on-premises, cloud, and IoT) at the right time and for the right reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
