With funding totaling \u20ac20 million, the BayLu25 program supports projects aimed at increasing productivity and material efficiency in the aviation industry. In addition to scientific institutions, companies can also apply for funding. Project proposals can be submitted until June 5, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The funding of projects to increase productivity and material efficiency in the aviation industry (BayLu25) is a program of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). It is based on the funding of research and development projects within the framework of the sixth national civil aviation research program (LuFo VI). BayLu25 focuses on the topics of eco-efficient flying, technology, and demonstration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the DLR<\/a> in the individual subject areas, what is considered eligible for funding. For example, the area of eco-efficient flying, with a maximum funding rate of 100 percent, is aimed exclusively at scientific institutions. The prerequisite for funding is that the development of known technologies is not fundamentally evolved, but rather that new technologies and impulses are discovered and their potential application in aviation is described. The overarching research goal is a significant reduction in resource consumption and the maintenance of aviation safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Demonstration area, on the other hand, is reserved for companies and their experimental development projects. Funding is available for projects that integrate individual technologies that have already been proven in a relevant, simulated, or idealized environment into a system or relevant subsystem. The maximum funding rate in this area is 25 percent for industry and 40 percent for SMEs. The Technology area is aimed at both science (maximum funding rate: 100 percent) and industry (maximum funding rate: 65 percent for SMEs, 50 percent for industry). The focus here is on industrial research projects. These include the development of components of complex systems or the construction of demonstrators. BayLu25 expiry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Anyone wishing to apply for BayLu25 funding must submit a project outline online by 12 noon on June 5, 2020. This outline should include information on the topic and technical approach, as well as statements on the project's commercialization prospects. Furthermore, certain documents for evaluation must be submitted, such as a project structure, a timeline, and a resource plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the project outline, eligible projects will be selected, and the respective outline submitters will be invited to submit a written and formal application (project proposal). In a second step, the applications will be reviewed and projects selected for funding.
