With the Vitomy app, the Munich-based startup Vitokrates supports its users in leading a healthy lifestyle. The three founders introduce their company in our 7 questions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/strong><\/em>Who are you and what do you do? Please introduce yourselves briefly!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vitocrates: <\/em>The core team consists of three members: Caroline, who studied business administration and medicine and has spent a long time developing new business models in the healthcare sector; Matthias, the computer science and machine learning expert; and Tassilo, our game designer and motivational expert. For almost two years, we have been collaborating on all projects with a steadily growing core team of doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, and exercise scientists who closely support the further development of the apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/strong><\/em>What problem does your startup solve?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vitocrates: <\/em>Health problems and chronic diseases, such as heart\/circulatory problems, digestive and metabolic disorders, are largely due to an unhealthy lifestyle with poor nutrition, lack of exercise, stress and poor use of stimulants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This problem is no secret; most patients are generally aware of it! However, many people fail to change their behavior or, at the very least, to stick with it in the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vitomy is a personalized app that suggests behavioral changes that are right for everyone \u2013 because there are many ways to achieve this, but the main thing is to start by changing one of the lifestyle "projects." Our Vitomy app pushes and motivates our users through reward systems, avatars, and other gamification elements that are tailored to individual needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vitokrates: \u201cOur startup life is always a roller coaster ride\u201d <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/strong><\/em>But that's been around for a long time!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vitocrates: <\/em>Changing behaviors that have been practiced and comfortable for years is difficult and boring, especially in the beginning \u2013 before successes become noticeable. The founders all know this from their own personal experiences... Advice and trackers (formerly offline diaries) have been around for many years \u2013 with limited success. We bridge stressful phases for users with our reward systems, challenges, and playful motivational aids, helping them achieve big health goals while having fun by taking small steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/strong><\/em>Has there ever been a point where you almost failed?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vitocrates: <\/em>Our startup life is always a rollercoaster ride. Within a week, we experience all sorts of emotions, both with Vitomy and personally, from a successful certification to a canceled collaboration to a fantastic media article about Vitomy. We love it and believe in our vision that lifestyle is the most important cornerstone of health and that any behavioral change is achievable with the right motivation. We will continue as long as the positive aspects outweigh the negative ones for us and the daily excitement is fun and motivates us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Short route to business angels, associations and organizations <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/strong><\/em>Where would you like to be in one year, where in five years?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vitocrates: <\/em>We hope that living a healthy lifestyle will become an increasingly widespread goal, and that our Vitomy coaching app will help many people achieve this goal with fun and motivation. In a year's time, we want to be used both preventatively by many healthy people to support behavioral changes and prescribed by doctors as a therapy companion for patients with digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome. Within the next five years, we see many more applications for our motivating digital coach for almost all "common diseases" and the opportunity to improve the health of the general population by supporting these patients in adopting a better lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/strong><\/em>How do you rate Munich as a startup location?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vitocrates: <\/em>Munich is a great location for startups, especially in the field of digital health:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to our Berlin location, many of our peer startups are located here, with whom you can easily exchange ideas in person or at one of the numerous events. Many business angels, associations, and organizations are also based in Munich, making the route short and direct. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/strong><\/em>Bicycle or e-scooter?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vitocrates: <\/em>Riding a scooter is great fun, especially at night, but we're definitely bike people.
