Around 400 representatives from industry, academia, the startup scene, venture capital, and politics gathered at the second Future X Healthcare in Munich. Their common goal: to advance digitalization in healthcare for the benefit of patients. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Digital (R)Evolution \u2013 A New Era For Patients\u201d \u2014 this was the motto of this year\u2019s Future X Healthcare. The event was opened by patron Judith Gerlach<\/strong>In her speech, the Minister of State for Digital Affairs emphasized the importance of putting the patient at the center: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Digitalization offers us a great opportunity to sustainably increase the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare, and thus the quality of care for patients. To achieve this, everyone involved must pull together. For tomorrow's healthcare system to be a success, it is crucial to place the patient and their individual needs at the center of our actions." <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Personalized medicine and individualized therapy <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Questions along these lines therefore dominated the event: How can patient data be used responsibly to advance research and development? How can patients contribute to progress in a self-determined way? How will digital innovations shape the diagnostics and therapy of tomorrow? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

"This year, at Future X Healthcare 2019, the patient is the focus. This role is also reflected in everything we do as a company. We are using digitalization to further integrate our core areas of pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, thus reaching a new level of personalized medicine toward individualized therapy." <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

explained Ursula Redeker<\/strong>, spokesperson for the management of Roche Diagnostics GmbH. She continued: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

"I am delighted that with the second edition of Future X Healthcare, we can once again offer a platform that promotes exchange between the most important drivers of innovation in a dynamic event format."\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Ebenbuild among the top 3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The FXH Startup Awards were also presented again this year. Among the winners was Ebenbuild<\/a> A Munich-based startup also made it into the top 3. Ebenbuild is developing an AI-based simulation for personalized ventilation in cases of acute lung failure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

GLX Analytix from Denmark was delighted to take first place. Second place went to Nanovery from the UK. In addition to a total of \u20ac17,500 in prize money for the top three winners, the winner will receive a deep dive into Roche's digital health accelerator "Startup Creasphere," providing them with insights into mentors and venture capitalists. The first- to third-place winners will also have ongoing access to expert knowledge and exchange views on their development with Roche executives.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
