The awards ceremony took place as part of the 11th German Mechanical Engineering Summit in Berlin.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Industry meeting for mechanical and plant engineering (opens in new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.maschinenbau-gipfel.de\" target=\"_blank\">Industry meeting for mechanical and plant engineering<\/a> Startups had the opportunity to compete against each other in a pitch contest and convince the audience of their innovative business ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winner was chosen by a total of 500 high-ranking decision-makers from the industry in a participant vote. <a href=\"\/en\/ecosystem\/gerotor-ag\/\">Clean-tech startup<\/a> Gerotor won the election with its high-performance flywheel storage system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gerotor reduces CO2 footprint<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The startup&#039;s energy storage system increases the energy efficiency of machines and systems in industrial and manufacturing companies while simultaneously reducing energy consumption and the companies&#039; carbon footprint. In this way, Gerotor contributes to climate protection. Co-Founder <strong>Marcel Werner<\/strong> commented:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p> &quot;In her opening speech, Ms. Merkel emphasized that measures for efficient CO2 savings must also be prioritized in industry.
