Public transport apps, car, bike, and soon scooter sharing\u2014there are many ways to move around smartly and efficiently in an urban area like Munich. But how do you keep track of all these options? This is the challenge that the Munich-based startup Veomo is taking on. With its visualization software, it aims to shed light on the mobility dilemma.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who are you and what do you do? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are Stefan (27, software developer) and Dominik (31, industrial engineer) and we have been developing Veomo together since 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We believe that the transition to new mobility is essential for livable and sustainable cities. Therefore, we raise awareness of alternative mobility services and simplify access to mobility information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veomo provides real-time information on available mobility on large monitors, thus reducing the stress of daily commuting, reducing the need for parking spaces, and promoting sustainable mobility behavior. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Mobility 4.0 visualization software is licensed by companies, property managers, smart cities, hotels, trade fair centers, and airports. They offer their tenants, employees, and guests a modern service and make a positive contribution to the mobility transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that's been around for a long time!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many people confuse us with mobility apps. However, since more than 80% of Germans don't yet use mobility apps, we inform our fellow citizens about their mobility options, regardless of their smartphone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veomo displays real-time information about available mobility services on large monitors at one location. Our users can learn about their mobility options and compare them at a glance, without having to search through a multitude of smartphone apps for the best deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to public transport, information on car sharing, bike sharing, scooter sharing, ride hailing, and ride sharing is clearly presented. We also enable our licensees to display company-owned mobility services, such as employee shuttle buses and ride sharing. Veomo also provides information on current traffic conditions, increased sales volume, and travel times to the airport or city center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the three main ingredients for your recipe for success?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We belong to a generation of young urbanites who have never owned their own vehicle and probably never will. We use many different mobility services to get around the city and are all too familiar with the problems of comparability, poor mobile reception, and a multitude of apps. On the other hand, our background in the automotive industry means we also understand mobility providers' fear of losing the customer interface to mobility platforms. Therefore, we offer a solution that benefits both the user and the mobility service provider. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s get to the point: How is business going? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We've already equipped several companies in Munich with Veomo. Our customers include the BMW Group, Messe M\u00fcnchen, Giesecke + Devrient, and various real estate developers. Due to demand, we are currently rolling out our service to Germany's seven largest cities and Vienna. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does Munich mean to you? <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For us, Munich means home, opportunities, and the future. We both studied and worked in Munich. We gained our first start-up experience at Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship. Hardly any other city is so focused on sustainability and gives new Mobility concepts<\/a> an opportunity. For us, there is no more beautiful or better place to develop a sustainable mobility product and bring it to market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can your startup become the next unicorn? Or will we see you soon at Epic Fail Night?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We're increasingly noticing how new mobility concepts are gaining interest and attention. Companies, politicians, and society are desperately searching for solutions to our mobility dilemma. This, of course, gives us a strong tailwind for rapid growth. On the other hand, the mobility industry is changing rapidly. Major automotive companies are merging and forming alliances. Other mobility services are receiving enormous venture capital, rolling out their services overnight, and subsequently going bankrupt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
