The Munich-based startup conference Bits & Pretzels recently announced a new leadership team. Britta Weddeling, Dominik Wichmann, and Christoph Commes will join the existing team. The conference organizers plan to develop Bits & Pretzels into a media platform for startups. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October 2018, the Munich Trade Fair<\/a> announced its investment in Bits & Pretzels. This gave the company a huge growth boost. At the beginning of the year, conference organizers Andreas Bruckschl\u00f6gl, Bernd Storm van's Gravesande, and Felix Haas had organized the developer conference Home<\/a> taken over. Now the next development step is underway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New team to drive innovative formats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow we are bringing experts on board to build Bits & Pretzels into Europe\u2019s leading platform for startups, entrepreneurship and innovation,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

so Felix Haas<\/strong>Britta Weddeling will be heading the entire content and programming strategy starting in August. So, we can't wait to see which personalities will be on the Bits19 stage. The technology reporter for the "Handelsblatt" newspaper lived in Silicon Valley for several years and has a strong network. Weddeling will surely be well-remembered by attendees of last year's Bits & Pretzels: There she interviewed former Formula 1 World Champion Rosberg<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the future, the journalist will be responsible for building the new media platform for Bits & Pretzels. Dominik Wichmann, former editor-in-chief of the S\u00fcddeutsche Zeitung Magazin and Stern magazine, and former co-CEO of the tech conference, will support her as Advising Publisher. The focus now is on this year\u2019s Bits & Pretzels, says <\/strong>Felix Haas. What exactly 'Europe's leading media platform for startups' will look like has not yet been determined. According to Haas, it is important for the conference organizers to provide exciting content for entrepreneurship enthusiasts all year round. This could be podcasts or video content. Another direction is also conceivable. The third newcomer on board, Christoph Commes, will manage the operational business together with Christian Lohmeier as Managing Director. This could also include innovative formats with a specific topic or industry focus. Perhaps even together with or for Messe M\u00fcnchen, which, after all, has a stake in Bits & Pretzels with 10%. \u200d\u200d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
