The Strascheg Award is the Munich University of Applied Sciences' ideas competition and is awarded for innovative business ideas. Nearly 80 business ideas competed in the award's three categories, which carry a total prize money of \u20ac30,000. The top three winners in each of the three categories received \u20ac5,000, \u20ac3,000, and \u20ac2,000, respectively. The awards ceremony took place on October 13th at the "E'ship Day \u2013 Entrepreneurship at Munich University of Applied Sciences" event. Ideas, projects, and academic papers driven by entrepreneurial spirit at Munich University of Applied Sciences were eligible for the award.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the awards ceremony, all nominated teams were given the opportunity to briefly present their ideas on stage.<\/p>\n

Category \u201cBest Business Idea from a Course\u201d<\/h3>\n

1st place: Smart Vision Capsule<\/strong> \u2013 The Smart Vision Capsule has set itself the task of making colon capsule endoscopy the new \u201cgold standard\u201d in the field of colon cancer screening through innovative solutions.<\/p>\n

2nd place: HeatBox<\/strong> \u2013 The HeatBox is a high-quality food box that allows food to be heated at any time and place with just the touch of a button.<\/p>\n

3rd place:<\/strong> Shucie \u2013 Shucie aims to combat resource waste in textile production and raise awareness of alternative fabrics. With an upcycling concept, cradle-to-cradle, and natural materials, the founders aim to raise awareness of alternatives and simplify access to them for European designers and labels. Shucie is entering the market with a unique upcycling range made from bananas and is the first wholesaler to bring banana fabrics to Germany.<\/p>\n

The other nominated teams in the first category were Hair Braider, \u00d1ammy and Temo 300.<\/p>\n

Category \u201cBest Student Business Idea\u201d<\/h3>\n

1st place: MAG-Implants<\/strong> \u2013 This business idea involves the development of an innovative resorbable implant and the associated surgical instruments for the arthroscopic treatment of shoulder instabilities.<\/p>\n

2nd place: Personal Mobility Device<\/strong> aims to redefine urban mobility with an innovative vehicle. Using high-tech materials and a highly integrated design, they have succeeded in developing a lightweight and portable electric micro-vehicle.<\/p>\n

3rd place: Evo-Connect<\/strong> has set itself the task of giving end users complete control over their data. To this end, it has developed a local data center that, for the first time, combines high security standards with simple plug-and-play operation.<\/p>\n

In the second category, the other nominated teams were Gastrologica, Munich Grill Company and Re-Fila.<\/p>\n

Category \u201cBest Scientific Idea\u201d<\/h3>\n

1st place: Private grid connection<\/strong> \u2013 This excellent idea involves the private electrical coupling of households and parties that are still connected to the grid. This reduces grid electricity consumption, increases the self-consumption rate, and enables direct participation in renewable energy for households without their own generation facilities.<\/p>\n

2nd place: Smart Amplifier Module<\/strong> is a digital audio amplifier that can be adapted to a wide range of requirements through programming or adapts itself to changing operating conditions through internal parameter changes. Due to its great flexibility, excellent audio quality, and high efficiency, the module is ideally suited as a building block for future audio devices.<\/p>\n

3rd place: BiRN<\/strong> \u2013 Construction Institute for Resource Efficiency and Sustainability (BiRN) Anyone who buys products like cars, televisions, or household appliances today can inform themselves about their environmental and sustainability credentials before making a purchase through independent product tests and quality seals. This has not been possible until now for what is often the largest investment in our lives: building or buying a home. The Construction Institute for Resource Efficiency and Sustainability (BiRN) will help home builders and buyers make the right decisions in the future. BiRN offers transparent and comprehensive certification of the sustainability of single- to five-family homes with the newly developed quality seal "Assessment System for Sustainable Small Residential Construction (BNK)."<\/p>\n

About the Strascheg Award:<\/span><\/p>\n

The Strascheg Award was presented for the second time this year, with a modified competition design. For the first time, there were three winning teams per category instead of one. The decisive criteria for the award were the degree of innovation, market potential, and implementation prospects of the idea. Students, alumni, professors, lecturers, research assistants, and employees of the Munich University of Applied Sciences were eligible to submit entries. Students and alumni from other universities who had participated in qualification programs and events at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) were also eligible to apply for the award. All teams that participated in the competition are entitled to free start-up advice from the SCE. The award was sponsored by the Renate & Falk Strascheg Foundation.<\/em><\/p>\n
