A recent ranking shows which startups won the most startup competitions in Germany last year. One in four of Germany's top startups comes from Munich.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The portal F\u00fcr-Gr\u00fcnder.de<\/a> annually evaluates the winners of German startup competitions and compiles a ranking of the top 50 startups. Last year, 672 startups were awarded prizes in 164 competitions.<\/p>\n

Although the first place does not go as yesteryear<\/a> with Inveox<\/a> to the Bavarian capital, but to Numaferm from D\u00fcsseldorf. Nevertheless, startups from Munich and Bavaria once again dominate the rankings. Five Munich-based companies alone rank among the top 10: Chargex<\/a> in third place, Toposens<\/a> to 4, Foodpunk<\/a> to 6, Kumovis<\/a> on 9 and Tubulis Technologies<\/a> to 10.<\/p>\n

A total of 12 startups from the Munich area made it into the top 50, in addition to the five top 10-placed Remberg<\/a> (23). Twaice<\/a> (26), Rovi<\/a> (28), Orbem<\/a> (30), Demo desk<\/a> (32), AeroLifi<\/a> (33) and Crashtest Security<\/a> (36). A total of 15 startups from across Bavaria are included in the ranking. Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia follow in second and third place in the state rankings, each with eight representatives. Thus, the Munich region has more startups than any other federal state.<\/p>\n

Winners of start-up competitions struggle with shortage of skilled workers<\/h3>\n

In addition to evaluating the number of competitions won, the study offers some interesting data on the award-winning startups:<\/p>\n

84 percent pursue a B2B business model. 58 percent are already active abroad, and 64 percent are seeking fresh capital this year. The biggest challenges for the top startups are product development (23 percent), recruiting (19 percent), and financing (15 percent).<\/p>\n

Overall, 72 percent of all top 50 startups reported finding it "difficult" or "very difficult" to recruit new staff. In particular, competition with existing (larger) companies and high costs were emphasized in this context.\u00a0Ren\u00e9 Klein<\/strong>, founder and managing director of F\u00fcr-Gr\u00fcnder.de, says:<\/p>\n

"This is hardly surprising. After all, more and more corporations are approaching the modern working worlds that were often lacking there, either by establishing their own startups or by investing in existing companies.
