Alasco aims to create more affordable and better housing. It should be clear that founders Anselm Bauer, Sebastian Schuon, and Benjamin G\u00fcnther are knocking on open doors in Munich. With the software they have developed, the founders, who started their previous startup Stylight<\/a> have achieved an impressive exit, making processes in construction projects for clients and project developers much more efficient and transparent.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alasco aims to provide builders and project developers with fully digital cost control for their construction projects. Co-founder Benjamin G\u00fcnther<\/strong> explains why this is necessary:<\/p>\n

"Previously, manual processes and legacy software have been used. The benefits of Alasco for clients include cost savings, for example, through the achievement of discounts, increased security through better traceability, and greater cost transparency through real-time data."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Until now, this functionality was only available as outdated on-premise software, a usage model for server-based computer programs that are only intended for local use.<\/p>\n

Alasco saves time and money<\/h3>\n

Since construction projects usually involve many different parties, Alasco's solution now enables everyone to collaborate using the same software. This eliminates tedious email and even letter exchanges. It's clear that this can shorten processes. Following the motto "time is money," the founders therefore view the time savings provided by their product as one of the most important factors, as this can lead to cost savings, especially in construction projects. Alasco also aims to make the data generated during a project more reliable.<\/p>\n

Embracing a new project was a change for the three founders after their success with Stylight. Back then, they had approximately 200-250 employees under their belt. With Alasco, they started from scratch again, just three people, in one room, with no employees. Starting everything from scratch again was fun, says G\u00fcnther, but at the same time, he admits that he's very happy with the now 15-person team that supports him and his colleagues. This allows everyone to focus on their actual strengths again, which also allows them to pick up the pace.<\/p>\n

Munich as a hotspot of the construction industry: Clear location advantage<\/h3>\n

The team was built up in the first six months of the company's history, while simultaneously refining the product with customers. Benjamin G\u00fcnther and his partners brought on board additional expert support in the form of shareholders: Representatives from Holtzbrinck Ventures<\/a> and Picus<\/a>, there is also support from the founders of Flixbus<\/a>The clear goal for 2019 was \u201crapid growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

As insiders, the former Stylight bosses still feel right at home in Munich. They're also happy to be in the right place for the construction industry. G\u00fcnther says:<\/p>\n

"We are extremely happy to be working with Alasco on a topic where Munich has a clear location advantage compared to other cities. All major construction and industrial trade fairs take place in Munich, and many of the project developers are based in Munich and the surrounding area."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Don't bend too much!<\/h3>\n

The prerequisites for further Success Story <\/a>The chances seem to be there. It remains to be seen what hurdles the Alasco team will have to overcome. G\u00fcnther, however, is confident:<\/p>\n

"It's incredibly motivating for us to build a top-notch product with a top-notch team that solves real customer problems and gets a little better every day. The biggest dangers would certainly be short-term hacks or if we were to bend too much for individual large accounts.
