The MOBiLus consortium, which includes the Technische Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnchen (TUM), the City of Munich, Unternehmertum, and BMW, was selected. The 48 international partners aim to develop solutions for sustainable urban transport. TUM in Munich is one of the five innovation hubs. The EU is contributing approximately \u20ac400 million to the multi-billion euro project, which is headquartered in Barcelona.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The consortium <a href=\"https:\/\/mobilus.home.blog\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MOBiLus<\/a> The acronym stands for &quot;Mobility for Liveable Urban Spaces&quot; and aims to find mobility solutions for livable urban spaces. The EuroTech Alliance, consisting of the Technical University of Munich (TU Munich), the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), the \u00c9cole polytechnique f\u00e9d\u00e9rale de Lausanne (EPFL), and TU Eindhoven (TU\/e), formed the core consortium in 2015. A total of eleven European universities are now represented in the consortium, with TUM being the only German one.<\/p>\n<p>Global companies such as E.ON, BMW, Siemens and SEAT are on board. <a href=\"\/en\/13313\/asked-about-entrepreneurship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Entrepreneurship<\/a>, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at TUM, is also one of the partners. Entrepreneurship was designated by the German government as a <a href=\"\/en\/20150\/digital-hub-mobility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Digital Hub Mobility<\/a> Thirteen cities are also participating in the major project, including Copenhagen, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Prague, Istanbul, and Munich.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Film portrait: Technische Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnchen \u2013 150 years of culture of excellence\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Y82CAzKf2eg?start=194&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>MOBiLus aims to bring together the common good and individual interests<\/h3>\n<p>The central conflict in the development of urban mobility is intended to be reflected in the lowercase letters \u201ci\u201d and \u201cus\u201d: the English words for \u201cI\u201d and \u201cwe\u201d, in the name MOBiLus.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe have individual interests from the economy that we must bring together with the public interests of a city,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>explained <strong>Gebhard Wulfhorst<\/strong>, Professor of Settlement Structure and Transport Planning and coordinator of the project at TUM.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is the key to sustainable development.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>An important goal, therefore, is to increase the involvement of citizen representatives in the projects. Another major challenge is to make cities more livable.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe most precious resource in the city is space, and that is limited,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>explains Wulfhorst. One goal of MOBiLus is therefore to make part of the area currently used by motor vehicle traffic available for other public uses.<\/p>\n<p>TUM President <strong>Wolfgang A.
